Shiver the Wolves of Mercy Falls Movie

Fans of the book Shiver and the Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater will be excited to hear that plans for a movie version of Shiver are underway.
Unique Features producers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynee have bought the film rights for Shiver and are working in conjunction with Warner Brothers on the movie.
Shaye and Lynne have worked together on several films, most notably The Lord of the Rings and The Golden Compass.
Producer Bob Shaye says, "I'm not the biggest werewolf or vampire fan, but the author has a strong take on a young adult sensibility. It's also a sexy love story that isn't too over the top."
A director has been hired for the movie, but the name has not been announced (as of 6/14/11). The only information released is that it is an Oscar nominated director.
The series is about Grace, a down to earth girl who falls in love with Sam, a sensitive musician. But Sam is a werewolf who can only be human during the warm summer months. When the weather turns cold, Sam becomes a wolf.
The two must fight against many obstacles in order to be together. The people of the town are afraid of the wolves. Grace's parents aren't thrilled about Sam. And they must figure out how to battle the cold that threatens to turn Sam back into his wolf form.

Robert Schwartzman would be a great fit for Sam, he might be able to pull of 18.

Oh my god. Taylor Lautner should never, EVER, step foot on the set of ANY Wolves of Mercy Falls movies. I despise him. I'm sorry for those "Taylor Fanatics" but I can't stand him. I don't see anybody on the casting list for Grace that I would particularly want. I think that Evanna Lynch would be perfect for Grace Brisbane. Aaron Johnson would be awesome for Sam Roth, or so, in MY opinion. Please check this out. :)
iSunshine - You are right. Taylor Lautner isn't a good fit for any of the Shiver characters. Evanna Lynch would be okay as Grace. She is a good actress. I think Aaron Johnson could have made a good Sam. I think he might be a bit too old for the character now, unfortunately.

I think they should use the guy from Teen Wolf off MTV , everytime I read Shiver thats who I imagined & I think Eliza Bennett should be Grace , She could pull off 17 .

Catherine - Eliza Bennett would be a great actress for Grace. She is one of Maggie Stiefvater's (the author's) top picks for Grace as well. Tyler Posey (the guy from Teen Wolf) would be okay for Sam.
Fannatic - A lot of people seem to think Tyler Posey would be good as Sam. I guess it is easy to picture him as a wolf. Eliza Bennett is also another top choice as Grace. I could picture Evanna Lynch as Isabell.
I love shiver! i, however believe that Logan Lerman should play Sam.

Lovewollfsxx - A lot of people would like Tyler Posey for Sam. Emma Watson would make a good Grace. She recently cut her hair really short, though. She would have to wear a wig. It is going to be a hard movie to cast. I'm sure they will find great actors.

I think that booboo Stewart should be Sam he is young and he looks like a Sam.
Paisley - Boo boo Stewart is a possibility for Sam. I think he could pull it off.
Taylor Lautner just isn't Sam. He is Jacob and only jacob. plus, Sam is white lol.

pennyanne strickland - Someone undiscovered would be fine for the movie. The perfect Sam could be out there now. Hollywood usually goes for people with experience for most big parts, though. I guess it is easier for them.
Whoever plays sam needs to be white i always imagined him being kind of pale.

i didn't know who was alex turner but when i saw him i said:"wow this is sam" and i know he's old now,and he has british accent and he wouodn't want to be in a movie...
and for grace any blonde PRETTY actress would be fine :)
ashley - Alex Turner could have made a good Sam. I agree with you about Taylor Lautner. I don't think he would fit the movie. I'm sure they will find someone pretty for Grace.

Molly-Anne Rumford - The series is great. They haven't started filming yet, so who knows. If you want to pursue being in movies, get a good agent and start building a portfolio.

I cannot see Emma Watson as Grace. The person I think of as Grace is Britt Robertson. I can see Aaron Jonhson as Sam, though. And I think of Taylor Momsen as Isabel.

Wow... I hadn't heard yet. I thought I followed book to film news pretty well too. I wasn't crazy about Shiver myself, so I don't know if I'll be seeing it but I will be watching the news about it.
